Videos from the 1991 Nationals Top 5
« on: November 20, 2010, 07:46:29 AM »

My wife got me a VCR that plugs into the computer and records VHS to PC.
I can then store them or make DVDs.
I choose to take the 1991 Nats video we have from the top 5 and make a few youtube videos.
I am going to make more as time permits.

Bob Hunt flying his Crossfire:

Robby Hunt flying his Europa:

Anyway if people like it I will make more.

Thanks Aaron!  Those are great.  Would love to see more.  The Europa has always been one of my favorite models.  What a treat to get to see the original flying!

Winfred flew that plane into someone flying on another circle (Windy was in the wrong place....in spite of warnings) and rebuilt it to good as new...
I saw it in New England three or four years ago being flown by an Intermediate flier...it had passed through a bunch of hands...

As always great to see you to!
We used the powermaster GMA fuel today but sadly my TBird is not in very good shape, seems there is a warp somewhere.

I am going to try to get one of everyone up before to long.
I also have the 1992 nats video I want to put some clips up of!

We do have some footage (very good!!) of Paul flying the B-17, and at more than one location, IIRC.  One is the WC's for sure.  Major problem is that we are now living 30 or so miles apart, and some of the stuff is at Aaron's, and more is here. ;D

(of course, I can barely run the VCR, much less record anything, so I am of NO help! LL~ )

Its great to see all those old videos, and how the engine sound and performance has changed.

Its only selfish I want to see the b17, so I can compare to how the lancaster stood up. Ive been unable to see it. I wanted to know what system you used to get it all down I might look into it myself and post some videos of Aussie guys flying Ive got alot of old footage also. Even as early as Big art downunder doing a clinic. Somewhere ive got footage of George aldrich flying a nobler when he came downunder and Bob palmer flying also.. but no ways of getting it up.. Also my lancaster is there somewhere..

Yes.  1991 was a GOOD year.  Flew in the last round even though I had already won.  Then with a little pressure removed, proceeded to put up the high score of the day!  I love it whan a plan comes together!

" I love it when a plan comes together "

Love that A-Team quote..

To quote another movie .. " Do I look like a man with a plan. " - Joker, Dark Knight.

Hmmm I was 11yrs old in 1991..

Paul,

I believe this was your Second flight.
Anyway I remember seeing you fly at the 1993 Nationals and wondering what it was like to be that good!
