To all, who like me, had the privilege of serving in the military of this great nation, I want to say "Thank you for your service"     :)
And being as I have now retired from the service ... allow me to also say ... "THANK YOU FOR MY CHECK!!   ;D LL~ LL~

I would like to belatedly thank the U.S.A. for the G.I. Bill, which went a long way toward paying for my college tuition.  Of course, I had to earn it with 4 years of active duty.

I had just over two years of credits when I was drafted.  With the GI Bill, CLEP and the 30+ hours I got while roaming the world on the Air Force's dime I was able to get a BBA and MBA without having to spend a dime of my own money on tuition.

Until recently when Lowes started giving Vets a 10% discount that GI Bill tuition was my only "thank you" for being a Vietnam vet.

This year we attended TWO great Veterans' Day events in Macomb County.

The 9th Annual Veterans' Day event at Stahl's museum and the dedication of the Michigan section of The Purple Heart Trial at my American Legion post.

Sept. 12 I had the privilege of going on the Honor Flight out of Toledo to attend the mall in DC where all the war memorials are. Then we went to Arlington Cemetery to watch the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
Honor Flight folks took 83 of us there and treated us like kings!  If you're a vet and haven't taken advantage of them, you should look into it.  Honor flight is a nation wide organization providing that service to veterans at no cost and it is a great day experience. y1
