I didn't get to serve (back surgery at age 21) so I don't know first hand what my veteran friends went through to allow me to have the good life I have enjoyed in the USA.   But believe me I respect every one who served in my stead.   Thank you for your service!!  My latest Caviler paint job is intended to show my love for my country and honor all who served in her defense.  #^    #^    #^

In Canada and other Commonwealth nations we call it “Remembrance Day” and express our deepest appreciation to all present and past members of our military forces with particular deference to those who paid the ultimate price to give us the freedoms we enjoy.

Today I had the honour of laying a wreath with my ninety year old father at the Veterans care centre that he lives in. This wreath was in honour of the Canadian Mounted Rifles of the First World War which my Grandfather and Great Uncle served for the entire duration of the war.

True heroes all!

Thanks to them and all our allies.

I consider it a privilege and an honor to have served this great country.  I salute all my brothers and sisters that served and shared that sense of duty.

Serving was usually pure boredom interrupted by 17 seconds of sheer terror.  It was an education like no other. 32 foreign  ports, 49 states, and lots of water, lots of it. Our first geography lessons were in the 4TH grade and Mrs Fancher told us the earth was 70 percent water.. She was dead on. I joined the Navy in 1960 to see the world, saw the wet part.. LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ SMC, USN, Ret.

My Father was a Marine.  little brother a Navy carrier/test pilot. (He would agree with you 100%  LL~)
and other little brother was Air Force too.

I second every positive stratement above, especiaslly the privilege part.  Not only that, it gave me a trade that not only made me a good living, but allowed me to retire comfortably because of it.  God bless the USA and all veterans and currently serving heroes.

Can't thank our Veterans enough, today and every day. Sadly, the big struggle now is keeping people from giving it all away.

To say that I respect and am thankful for the efforts of those who served would be an understatement.
My wife served in the Army as a medic.  My brother in law also served in the Army, entering as enlisted, working up through all the enlisted ranks, going to OTC and ending a 30 year career a Major. My dad was Navy for going on 38 years, beginning with combat in Korea, and retiring as a Master Chief.
I admire and respect all who served!
