Have the wing almost done and forgot to add the adjustable tab on rear of trailing edge, can someone help me, can this be done now ? And how do i do this. Does the plane need this. Or will it fly ok with out it ?

If everything is lined up you will not need it but it is a nice to have if needed. You might get lucky and it flys right off the board or you just need to do a flap tweak.
Good luck.

Even if you know what your doing ( read that as you have Won Nats before ) you wouldnt see those people building a model without adjustable leadout position.
Premade ( BOM LEGAL ) adjustable leadout guides are avaliable from many sources. Easy to install - my advice install one.

I put adjust leadouts in. The part i was talking about is the adjust tab at the rear of the trailing edge.
-
its not necessary - I have built 6 vectors and a simple flap tweak is all that is need if anything is not 100% straight

Neither my kit-built nor ARC Vectors needed any trim tab. It would however be a simple matter to slice the outboard TE beyond the moveable flap and fit it with a hinge and adjustable link to a small horn on the trim tab. But I bet you won't need it.
If PJ is reading this, I flew the Red Vector 5 times today in our bitterly cold California winter (70 degrees F, light winds) and it still flies as good as ever. I need to be careful with it though between now and July. I should probably park it.

Hi Steve,
Just cut the piece off the TE. ;D Having the tab is no harm, and it "Might" be needed. If you need it and it ain't there once you start flying and trimming the plane, you will have a good bit more work to retro fit it then. All the "adjustability" you can add is a good thing. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Bill's correct in that if you have it, and need it, there it is.
Tom Morris sells a trim tab set up. It consists of a tiny control horn, a small nylon clevis, a short threaded push rod about 2 inches long. One end is epoxied to a tiny ply pad about 1/4" square, on the wing. Then when you need to do any triming, the clevis is released, turned on the threaded rod, and returned to the horn. Very minute adjustments can be made. It is usually installed on the underside, so it does not stick out and is not very noticable. But it works. H^^ y1
Tom has a whole bunch of neat little things for us lazy guys! I haven't checked lately, but I guess Jim Snelson at CLC sells all of Tom's items?

Hi Mike..
Sorry I should have mentioned this before - I tried and tried and tried and couldn't manage to organize anyone to come and collect the Vector.. I didnt realise you were so far from the action.
Anyway looking at my schedule we decided that building a new takeapart model wouldnt be that much of a stretch.. This is for dad to fly in advanced. - So once again i thankyou SO MUCh for your offer, but looks like she is staying in your lap.
( We only made that call about a week ago.. ) Already got the Wing / fuse done..
