Ed Keller posed a question on my previous string about Vector & Thunderbird construction.  Should there be provisions for hot air to exit the cowl on a Vector 40 even tho there is none shown on the plans?

Purely on the physical properties of heated air, the exit area should exceed the intake area, and without an exit, there would be no reason for any larger forward opening than the size of the venturi, because the air wouldn't be able to enter otherwise.  The extra clearance around the exhaust and a muffler's manifold is hardly enough to consider as much of a factor in this air flow discussion.

An oversite on the plans. Why would this design be any different than all the others, in a need for engine cooling inlet and outlet? It's not!  Steve

the cylinder head is exposed (if you follow the plans) there is plenty of airflow to cool the engine - however, if you want to modify it - this is what I did....
