Title: Vector 40
Post by: andreas johansson on September 05, 2007, 12:20:16 PM
Hi guys
I have ordered a Brodak Vector 40 kit to build during this fall-vinter. It will be great fun, it was a long time ago since I last built a full fused stunter. I will probably need yor help during the assembly, particulary during the finishing process... I havent decided on the engine yet, but I´m thinking of either the Brodak 40 (a great engine) or the PA40 S.E.... or maybe a Saito 40..

Bob: I hear ya ;D Do you have experience with the Vector 40 and Saito 40 combination?
Wynn: I will keep the LA46 in mind, do you use stock LA46 engines or are they changed in any way?

Andreas,
You may want to go to "Page 2, and Page 3" on this open forum. There you will see Wynn's excellent photos and info on his beautiful Vectors. On page 3 you will see my post that received many informative answers, giving the weights, and engines used on many Vectors. This may give you some ideas for yours.
Randy Smith's wonderful Aerotiger .36 is perfect for this plane, but as you will see, many different engines work just fine. Mine works great with an AXI 2826/10. You will really like your Vector, no matter how you power it.
Regards, H^^

Rudy, did you get your sparkymatic zapper delux Vector flying? dude you were supposed to let me know how that all went. Still waiting for the reportws and pictures of your installation, ie cooling and all. I am still sitting on my electric stuff till I break my string of 1200% contests with crashes. Dont really want to torch a 200 battery.

Nope, just know how well the Saito 40 works and can imagine it being a great combination.

Andreas,
Stock LA46 - with front mounted needle valve (the OS one) 4oz sullivan (or Dubro) rectangle plastic clunk tank with Muffler pressure, ensure that you use a sintered brass clunk/pickup. 11 x6 wooden prop - run in a constant 4 (wet 2 stroke) 5% nitro, 20% oil.
