I've been working on this old Chief kit and the landing gear wire that is in the kit is about 3/32th's diameter. Would I be better off bending a gear out of 1/8" music wire? Mind you I'm pretty hard on the equipment HB~> HB~> HB~> HB~> LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~

Hi Dennis,
I would go with the 1/8th" wire. y1

The Chief would look good with a carbon gear

Thanks bill, I'll have to track some down on Monday at lunch or something as my "close" supply of K&S stuff was out of the 1/8" wire '' . There are 3 or 4 places I can check on Monday though and hope to get lucky LL~ LL~ LL~
Bob, You may have something there, I might have to try that on a future build, Thanks! H^^

The original wire gear was 1/8th in the kits. If you would like, I still have a couple of aluminum landing gears left over from the Chief kits that I use to make. Let me know. I sell them at $8.00 plus priority mail. Larry / Richardskits ;)

I hear Sparky has a great carbon gear that would work for your Chief build. Now don't forget the pictures. H^^
