Hi all, This weekend I came across a Veco "The Mustang" C-7 C/L semi-scale kit, 48" wing span. It looks like it's all there. Since I'm not familiar with the kit, I think the plans are missing. It only has an assembly sheet. From the looks of the kit it can certainly benefit from a set of plans and so can I. Do any of you out there know if the kit is supposed to have plans? If so, do any of you have a set you can copy and would be willing to sell me? Thanks guys, Bill

Bill,
The Veco kits I have seen have a "trail" of assembly steps illustrated on a large sheet. No full scale plans to build on. There are very likely aftermarket plans for this notable kit out there. I tried a quick internet search but came up empty, which surprises me. Perhaps it is close to the Hurricane, which is definitely out there.

I think Tom Dixon has plans for a 48 span Veco P-51. I checked his web page but there is no longer any info there, I guess you have to call.

Hi Bill.
Sorry I can't help you with the Veco plans as I built mine back in the fifties I think and powered it with a Fox 35. I also built a Kenhi Mustang about the same time. The Kenhi is the same size but more wing area and a much more realistic look but certainly not a "Scale" model. The Veco has a much slimmer fuselage for sure and neither will do the full pattern but possibly the OTS pattern. The Kenhi was also powered by a Fox 35 which was OK but both had to be kept on the light side. I eventually spread the nose apart on the Kenhi, installed a larger tank and powered it with a Fox 59, went to 70 foot lines and it looked, flew and sounded like a real Mustang and again was not a full pattern aircraft but plenty of fun. Both are long, long gone today. If I were to build one today it would be the Kenhi! Good luck.
PS. Still have the Hurricane after many years and a wonderful flyer and looks great. Power is a ST 46.
