I have opened up the permissins so that everyone has the ability to change your user name to your real name. I would suggest that you do so now This has been an ongoing battle. Be sure to add your zip code only in your city and state box so the weather box will show.

In your profile you will see account settings. User name is your real First and last name. Your display name can be anything however I like to use my real name.

Can we use our User name in the Chat room?  Would be nice.

Your real name should show up in chat. That way you know who you are talking to. That is the way it is set up.

Robert,
I tried to change my user name as you suggested while I was in the chat room the other night.
I did and it took me some time to get logged back in. It also change all my post so rootbeard was no longer alive.
I don't want to lose my handle, most people know me as rootbeard.

I do have my real name in my profile. And people have tracked me down using the PAMPA directory and I do get calls from time to time. So I know I am traceable.

Let me know what I need to do.

Hi,

Not an entirely new member but:

This afternoon (in UK) I attempted to change my user name (Pudding) to real name (Harry Rice), although my forum name was my real name!

Got as far as >profile>enter password>mouse click. Next thing, window pops up: "You have changed your email address"! (did not!)

I have has to re-register using my son's name and another email address - hopefully temporary?

Any help out there?

Cheers

Harry

There is something wrong with our server and I am trying to address that problem first. User names are on hold right now until I get this site moved. Thanks for your action.

Go to your other email address harry@roconplastics.co.uk and activate the Harry rice profile. You are only allowed one user name and profile, email address here. If you have 2 only 1 will work.

Robert,

Partial success!!

Have changed user/real names to Harry Rice but cannot change new email address as it registered to my "stage name" of Ed Rice.

Could you delete Ed Rice (me) from the list please, the I will be able to add my new email.

Another donation on way - well deserved for patience alone!!

Cheers

Harry

Dang it  HB~>  I should have waited a couple more weeks to try and make the change from Curmudgeon to my name.... I signed on here when it first appeared and didn't want to  loose the time in grade. My real name was signed on each post and in my profile, but it was not the user name.  n1 So after the user name post I gave up and deleted myself and signed on as a newbie...

Thanks Robert, But I don't recall,  ??? it's not that important in the grand scheme of things. If grades were based on the number of posts made then I wouldn't have advanced much. I do remember when you first posted on several boards that there was a new game in town I signed up right away. I am looking forward to the on-line mag. I hope that takes off.  #^
