Title: Use for mangled balsa ?
Post by: Mike Greb on April 28, 2008, 03:51:26 PM
I have acquired some salvage balsa logs with mangled ends.  When the ends are sawed off, I will have quite a bit of unusable scrap balsa blocks. I was wondering if anybody had cooked steaks over a balsa fire.

Probably be pretty smoky. Maybe you can smoke venison.

I had some scrap (bits and pieces) so I tossed it in the leaf/limb pile to burn. It did burn but I got the impression it would have not all burned if the rest of the fire didnt help it along.

Burning balsa! You guys should be ashamed of yourself! ;)

It's a sin.
