I have heard on the grapevine that a few people will be bringing new models to the 2011 US NATS.
Id like to know with still some time to spare ( According to my Live Countdown timer )
Where is everyone at with their setups ? -
Who is bringing something new ?
still in testing phase ?
still in painting stage ?
Yet to start paint ??
Yet to start the wing
Almost finished the wing? ( Howard ? )
I will go 1st :
Ive completed engine testing and setup phase with my No # 2 Model -, will be completing the Paint cycle # 1 by the end of the month.

I am nearly finished with the wing.

Because off my lay off and late start I will be bringing my Continental XL from 08. I don't expect too much on appearance but I'll be there!

Hope to have the new one done soon. Painting.........................................................

Same status as Derek almost, only he's really painting, and I'm just smearing filler, and eventually will toss some paint in the general direction of the plane and hope it sticks. I'm sure mine will be another great 10FT finish, maybe 20FT, who knows? 15 points or bust, right?! Hahahahahah.
Still have last years plane with low mileage on it, and it may very well still be this years plane too for all I know. We shall see...

Last year's airplane went from being a good 5 foot finish to being a good 15 foot finish. The paint on the wings have shrunk quite a bit, and where there wasn't a seam, there is a seam now (where the wingtip meets the foam wing), plus some other dings on it. Also a crash last year when it was brand new doesn't help anything either.
So anyway, the Trivial Pursuit, this year's airplane and the one I'll be bringing to the NATS is a few days away from paint (with the time I get, that's about 2 weeks). I have Spring break coming up in a week and a half, and want it painted by the end of vacation. Then I start flying it!!

Up here in Vermont, the only thing people do, at least a lot of my friends, is sleep, and do a lot of nothing. I'll have baseball, and painting the plane.

All spring break means for me (now that I am older and about to get married) is a week full of thousands of golf fans. They are not very good drivers either. No pun intended.......

Will you postpone the wedding to paint the new ship?
I would.. :) - to get it done - Nats is top priority!
Having said that - I've seen " mrs D barry to-be " and I probably wouldnt postpone anything involving her..
