Title: UP DATE FOR BLACK HAWK MODELS
Post by: LARRY RICE on July 22, 2015, 10:35:52 PM
We were offering to sell Black Hawk Models but that did not work out, next we were closing it.  NOW we are working on moving the kit manufacturing to Canada while keeping the managing and warehouse in so. California.  Right now many of our kits are not in production while the Canadian shop is setting up production.  We do have a fair amount of kits on hand.
The new kits made at our Canada shop will be improved with more laser cutting.  The bad news is that there will be an overdue price increase when they are up and running, due to the extra shipping and larger work force.  On the plus side, not only will we be bringing most of our kits back into production, but we will be introducing several new kits.  We will be expanding our larger model selection and our R/C model selection.

Well done BH mods. (English phrasing). (I believe the American equivalent is "Good job BH Mods").

Congrats.

Will the PERKY speedster be available?

WE HAVE SOME PERKY KITS STILL AVAILABLE AND IN STOCK.
The new ones will be out next year after they are laser cut and we work out any problems with their fit.  Giving you a box of wood that is close to the size that you need and allowing you to finish shaping them is not what is expected of laser cut parts.  There will be an upgrade.

If you want to make money in this business you need to have the kits cut and assembled in China - most people no longer care about quality.  Black Hawk Models has never been about the money.

No, COX did not buy Black Hawk Models, no-one bought BHM.

I am still in charge of BHM.  The kits will be manufactured by the company that did our laser cutting.

One of the best things (besides the cool kits) is no international shipping. Even shipping from Canada to say Michigan, if it is over a pound isn't cheap.

I spoke to our manager in Canada and he will be making several improvements in the kits - that is a big thing for me.  Bringing our kits back into production and adding several new ones is another big move.  We were making a few R/C kits before and they will be back along with a few new ones - so there is a lot to celebrate.

Larry:

Great to hear that Black Hawk is going to be back in business and that you will still be running things! The line of models you offer is wonderful. The fact that they are going to be 100% laser cut will only improve the value of the product.

Welcome back buddy.

Glad to hear this Larry. With the Canadian dollar getting pounded on the currency markets the kits may be cheaper than they were.lol.

One US dollar buys about 1.3 CDN dollars. The CDN dollar is worth about 73 cents US..

There won't be to many trips to the US for this Canuck..lol
