To all who see, this is just a day me my dad (Tom Weedman) and my grandfather (Jack Weedman) were working in the shop. I decided to take a few pictures to show what we've been up to. Unfortunatly my camera was almost full so i didn't get everything in. But as you can see the assembly line is trucking. The jet is a F-14 Tomcat that i think everyone in the family has had a part to build on it. The wing that is in the jig is a regular twister blown up to a .60 size i think. I am using this wing to build for my first time and dad is telling me what to do. I tried to show how strait it is. My dad loves it to be strait as can be and that wing is strait as an arrow. I have a lot of fun building and flying with my dad and grandfather. If you know them you know exactly what i mean. I am proud to be the next generation of the Weedmans (Southern Contol-Line Consepts).

Very cool pictures! and you are lucky to have someone who is interested in CL!
Does that F-14 have any relation to Vic Macaluso's design???
-
Thomas, beside the "attach...browse" line under the dialog box, there is, in very small faint letters, "more attachments". Click on that for putting additional pictures into the same post.

Way to go Team Weedman! Nice pic's, thanks for sharing. Hope you guys can bring that bad boy to the KOI, and / or our Tampa Bay Line Flyers November contest if you have it flying well by then. That looks like one sweet ride!

Sounds great!!! We have 2 of them, one from the 71 design, and the modern one with SV numbers published around 97. A little side note, the modern F-14 we got is Vic's ACTUAL one that was published in the magazine. Still being flown on a regular basis 14 or 15 years after it was built!

Hey TJ,
Where did that paint stand come from? Who designed it? LOL, I just got back from my little adventure to the Bahammas & the Forida keys. I'll be back working on the F-14 trim colors Monday afternoon.
Come join the fun. Uncle Lynn ......out !!! y1

yes the vetor pro was something a guy named bill hodges built that he didn't like. my dad did some adjustments and now it's a beautiful airplane to fly. i flew it once. it's the only plane with an LA-46 on it and that is one sweet motor in my opinion

WOW! I enjoyed every pic! Looking at this is kind of what goes through my mind when I fantasize winning the lotto. :)
The pics are full of hints and tips. I especially liked the nice pics of CLC jig at work. y1

How about some more information on the wing jig. Home made? Details? Anything would be of great interest.

I looks a lot like the one Jim Snelson of CLC offered.

Hi Tom,
Is it the 1970's version that had the.35 or the last one that was piped (and used the SV wing?)
Thanks!
Bill
-
Yes that is the wing jig peices that Jim Snelson sells at CLC. The little sticker is at the top of the verticle leg. If you follow his instructions it is very easy to use. It takes time to set up. I now have a 4 foot metal level that is as straight as I can get any thing that I had to buy to set up the rig. If you check his site. www.clcentral.com You can see he is a family operation with a ton of Tom Morris stuff. Remember his is still a working stiff. H^^

[/quote The wing jig started out as A Control Line Central jig the leading edge blocks I had made they split in the middle so I can take the wing in or out with out having to set every thing back up
