Two Ringmasters Almost Complete! All Done!
« on: February 06, 2015, 06:23:30 PM »
My Son in California and I had a great idea to have a pair of matching S-1 Ringmasters! I built the planes from downloaded plans that show they were modified by P.D. King in 2011, then printed at the FedEx/Kinko's. My Son designed the trim scheme. Both new planes will be powered by reliable Fox .35 engines. You can probably guess which Ringmaster is mine, and his will be blue colors. The picture is a "Get a shot before it gets dark outside" type, and neither plane has completed trim.

I will get to fly mine first, because he won't get his until Spring, when I make a road trip out there to visit him, and his family. This is the first Father/Son project that we have done in quite some time! I'm eager to get the planes together.

I will build it. It's gonna be really difficult to find me with an ARF. I know every bit of my airplane!

Cool! Where in Ca. does your son live? Been here for 67 years except fot one year in Oregon.

I built an S-1 a few months ago and put a Brodack .40 in it. I also had an old one that used to be white but turned yellow over time and put an La.25 in it
Both fly well.

Looks pretty good from what I can see. I'm stationed in northern California for the USAF.

Hi Mitchell, there are quite a few of us N. California guys. Several of them are Bay Area guys not too far from you. Check out the contests this year in Woodland.

Woodland is pretty close. A few of my buddies commute from there. I'll browse around the calender and see if anything pops up in the area. Thanks Clint.

Okay! I finished mine, and flew it twice, today. It was great! A little bit windy, but manageable. Here is what mine looks like, finished. Mitchell's will be identical, except for the colors.
I will build it. It's gonna be really difficult to find me with an ARF. I know every bit of my airplane!

Ta-Da! Both of them are done, and I got the okay from Mitchell to test fly his. They fly great! His is the first plane I've made that hasn't been trimmed in purple, for quite some time. It's difficult to think in blue. His is the one with the last of the diamond checkerboard material, too. Now, I can hardly wait for the road trip to California!

Thanks!
These planes were fun to build, and they fly great! Everybody needs a Ringmaster at some point!
