We had a good turnout today at Reeves field. Marvin Denny and Lew Woolard showed up; it was good to see them. The OKC bunch showed up, and Larry Oakley won Classic/Nostalgia. Larry is one of those supergood fliers that you have never heard of. Andre Ming showed up and flew some of his combat ships. We had a nice visit. I haven't seen him in over 20 years. He had some good combat stories to tell.

A few more.....

It hurts that much more that I wasn't there with my OKC buds. Daryl just finished that Mustang this week so I am glad he was able to make it.
You are right about Larry! Very good, I watch him practice all the time and it's always amazing to see him fly. Daryl is pretty good too, must have had an off day or stiff competition. I'll give him grief when he gets back.
I'll be there eventually De.

Elwin you must have been born with a camera in your hand! Great pictures. I've always wanted to make it to Tulsa and hoped this would be the year. Maybe next year. Have a good finish to your event.
Type at you later,

Elwyn as usual did a great job with the camera. It's hard work.

Getting ready for day two at the great Glue Dobbers site. We've enjoyed the evenings as well with a trip to Hard Rock Tulsa on Friday and a fun Mexican dinner outing with Jim and Lila Lee, Lew Woolard and Bob Brookins last night. Great to see everybody.
-
Well I see I missed another great contest. Good to see Dave and Kevin making it down. I myself finally forced myself to go out and fly. Went through a new jug of water and only made four flights. Hope you guys have an even better day today. Tel Elwyn hanks for the great pictures.

I am missing being there also. I have been watching on the web cam but it just is not the same. I miss all my friends. Lova has just had too much trouble with sinus infection and stuff this summer to go much of anywhere without getting a set back. Thanks for all the pics Elwyn. It relieves the pain a little bit.

Joe Gilbert out traveling to other contests? I don't see his name anywhere in the results....

Thanks for the great pictures Elwyn of a great contest with lots of great people. Guess the old DOC is getting too old to keep track of this stuff.

It was an excellent contest. The weather was fantastic, aside from the light breeze being a bit variable it couldn't have been better. Of course the people were half the fun, we got to catch up with a bunch of our favorite people and meet some new ones too. Reeve's field is a really nice place to fly, the grass was nicely groomed and the shade was nice too. The Nobler has kept me busy all summer with preventive maintenance and last minute repairs, but it didn't let me down. I was really happy with my flights, it was a nice finish for the season in Advanced, and now I can look forward to next year and the move up to Expert. Thanks to all the volunteers that gave their time to make the contest possible, and the judges that watched patterns all day watching for the fine details that make one different than another.
I would have liked to get a few more pictures, but most of the flights were flown, and planes back in cars by the time I finished my official flights and I didn't get a chance to see most of the flights and planes on the other circles...
