I have just received the laser cut parts for the Tucker 4 kit prototype. I will start building it tomorrow. I hope to have some pictures soon. There is a want list and those people will be given the first opportunity to get one.
This will be a standard i-beam build, but I hope to include some extra features - hopefully some molded parts. There is no release date or price yet but the Tucker 4 will be my next kit.
I have shipped all the Continental kits that have been paid for and have a few left so I won't have to stop work to produce more until later.
The Laser Continental ( aka Tom Warden ) as well as the Playboy and Argus kits are in stock and can be ordered anytime.

Is this a different version than what "Blue Sky Models" has? DOC Holliday
-
John,
I am unaware of Blue Sky doing a Tucker kit. I do not see any reference to it on his web site. RSM does kit the Tucker Special which is a different plane. The Tucker 4 is an i-beam of 50 3/4 inch span and RSM produces a 53 inch span kit.
Just to clear the air I purchased the rights to kit the Tucker 4 from Bob Tucker. I went through his lawyer who wrote the contract allowing me to do so. The purchase price is going to the medical care of Bob.

Bill,
Is this the same plane that Alan Resigner resurrected; the original blue one and he drew up plans?
-
Randy,
Yes you are correct. Pat Johnston transferred the plans to Autocad format for laser cutting.

Guess old age is catching up with. Can you put me on the list for one? Didn't want to start anything, my apologies and look forward to a kit of it. I like I-Beam wings. Later, DOC Holliday

I have started the Tucker 4 build. Check my postings in the last alphabetically at the bottom of vendors corner.
Look in Windancer Models.

Here is a picture of the original prior to being repaired.

My plan is to include an assembled motor crutch in the kits as I have done in the past. In this kit there is no former at the rear of the engine so I filled the entire crutch.
I added an 1/8 inch square where the bottom of the fuel compartment plywood is glued. This gives a better glue joint. This is not shown on the plans but will be in the instructions.
Here I added the rest of the fuselage formers. I need to stop at this point and produce the molds to form the fuselage top and bottoms. If I do this it will prevent a lot of carving and hollowing.
While I was gluing up assemblies I also glued up the spar.

Bill, are those fuse sides 1/4"?
-
Yes the fuse sides are 1/4 inch so they can be rounded from the center. It gives the fuselage a more round appearance.
-
Bill,
Please put me on the list for the Tucker. Also, could you PM me for a Playboy kit and the price shipped.
Thanks in advance.
