I have learned that laser cutting is the best way to go with kits. If you mean using the rectangular sheets at the wing tips to align the spar and leading/trailing edges - yes. Alan sent me a copy of his plans. I would think that they would be the closest to an exact copy of the plane. However they will need additional work to be useable to do laser cutting. Cut files that are used by the laser machine will have to be produced. As in all of my kits nothing wil be changed that would alter the outer looks of the origional plane. I like the idea of making kits builder friendly - IE - less carving and hollowing of blocks and easier to assemble, so I want to look into the idea of using the laser locked rib system.
These kits will be produced after some other projects are finished. I am working on another run of Playboy kits, some more kits of the Argus ( which have been waiting on wood ), auto cad work on the Tom Warden Continental is being done by Larry Cunningham with the intention of producing a laser cut kit of it and the Ballerina III is being also drawn in autocad by Mark Scarborough for updating to laser cutting. I have had a couple of designs offered to me to possibly kit and there is another plane I would like to produce. The Tucker 4 will be worked in according to how the others come along.
