Title: TT GP-10 control line engine
Post by: Steve Kientz on November 05, 2007, 04:10:46 PM
The local Hobby Town has this orphan sitting in their display case. The price isn't bad. Was wondering if it is worth pursuing? I didn't think that TT made CL engines.

Hi Steve,

I *think* it is the same as the OS 10 F or FP.  It's one or the other! LOL!!
Should be strong for a .10

Hi Steve,
If it's a C/L version of the TT10 then the only thing wrong with it is that the Venturi has a larger diameter opening then is optimum for it's size. That is easily fixed and you will have a great running motor.
Incidentally you can not convert the new  natural OS LA 10 RC motors to C/L with an FP backplate, venturi and NVA. They don't fit anymore Of course the old La might not have been convertable either. Inever saw one till today. Pity.

Would it be strong enough to haul a F2D combat wing for sport flying? Or maybe an oversized 1/2A plane?

I have a TT .10, .15, and .25 in CL version. They are very similar to the OS FP. As mentioned, the venturi is a bit large for stunt. I would suggest using muffler pressure on the tank. The venturi itself is the sprinkler type, with the needle assembly at the rear of the venturi, not through the center. Nice little engine.

Scott,
I ment that you couldn't use the OS10FP parts excluding the NVA
I already converted mine by clipping off the rear mounted nva and doing my own venturi' and using the stock OS10FP nva's

To get a comparison, here is a TT GP-10 C/L. First=the whole thing, Second=another shot, Third=venturi up close:
