My flying buddy Charlie stumbled onto a new technique for stripping monocote residue off balsa sheeting. He recently picked up a TF Score at a swap meet that needed Nome work. He stripped off the covering and as we all know the residue left behind when the film is stripped off can be a PITA to remove. He tried various strippers, thinners, etc and they are messy, stinky, and can loosten glue joints. Out of desperation he tried this method and surprisingly, to me at least, it removes about 80% of the residue on the first shot. No apparent damage to the wood. Here is a link to my first YouTube vid, taken with my phone of the process. He uses duct tape but I suspect other tapes, like packing tape, will work too.
