As of April 1, LIPO batteries may be banned from checked baggage - carry-on only

Dang, I hope my hoverboard fits in the overhead compartment.

Isn't there a difference between "checked baggage" and "batteries shipped as cargo on passenger aircraft"?

I have always carried mine on. I thought this was already in place. But i wasn't actively monitoring any rules, just what the folks at the airport said.
