I want you all to know that my life has been made richer by getting to know all of you through the hobby we all enjoy so much. For me, it is not so much the actual flying of the models although I enjoy flying, but the happiness of being in this fraternity and the unselfish sharing of experiences, information and positive atmosphere that has given me happiness that I cherish so much. I only wish that the economy had been better for all our sakes so I could have made more events and meets in person and hopefully that will change in the coming months.
In today’s world it seems that every morning we turn on the news to see what else is being done to us by Washington and it is a struggle to find something positive to lift our spirits and get us through another day on the planet. So when I turn my attention to something more pleasant (our hobby) to take my mind off all the negativity for a while, I can always find solace in the help you all so willingly have offered when I am seeking an answer to a problem or offering a better way of doing something because someone had helped you through a similar situation earlier. The greatness of this is not because we are just discussing model airplanes, it is because it is an attitude that we can apply to all aspects of our personal lives and a code to live by. Wouldn't if be great if our representatives in Congress, regardless of party affiliation, could find a way to do the same thing? Just pay it forward.
Since I have retired and gotten back in this hobby and had the privilege of getting to know you all, I can honestly say my life is richer and I find myself smiling and laughing a lot more and that is definitely a good thing.
I sincerely hope that you and your families have a wonderful and very Merry Christmas and will thank God for the people who have gone before us and sometimes payed the ultimate sacrifice so we can still celebrate the birth of Christ without intimidation and fear from a tyrannical government. Let's keep it that way.
Merry Christmas
