Rocket City Fun Fly
« on: May 22, 2010, 01:22:37 PM »
I just got back from the first Rocket City Fun Fly in Christmas, FL and I had a very good time.  Got to visit with some friends, flew my Barnstormer and the Scared Kitten and ate a hamburger and hot dog.  The site was very well set up with three circles and plenty of pit area.  Almost no waiting to fly.

To Robert and the other Rocket City guys, thanks for a good time.

Sorry guys, but I forgot my camera.  Maybe someone else will post some pics.

Had a great time as well!  Nice job Robert!  The circles and pits were groomed nicely!  Nice seeing everyone!

I've also got some video of 'Slobbin' and retreads on 1/2A's....  I'll post when I get them together ...

Robert,
Congratulations to you and the Rocket City RC Club members.  H^^
It may have been your first club CL Fun Fly but it looked like you have been doing it for years, very well run!!!
Good to share the day with CL friends.
Had a great time, field well prepared, food was great, and you even scheduled good (ie light winds) weather.
See you soon,
Roger V.

Thanks for the kind words, I was very pleased to see it come together and the nice day we had. I want to take a moment and thank all that came to the fun fly, with out you it would have been just another weekend at the field. We were able to talk some of the RC guys into flying the 1/2A trainers. I would also like to thank the club members for all the hard work they put into prepairing the field and cooking.

Here are some more pictures.

Hmmmm,

Shouldn't Christmas FL get permission from Huntsville, AL before they start calling themselves the Rocket City?  I believe that Huntsville had dibs on that name since about 1947?
