Tower Hobbies Fun 51

I'm just now starting to build the Fun 51. the ones that are already built, did you use the stock landing gear? Mine came with 1/8" aluminum for gear, figured that was overkill( especially the way I land, nose first). was considering music wire, but wasn't sure when you are talking about finished weight of 50 oz.

thanks
steve

Don't know about the fun 51 but you need to go to your profile and remove your zip code.. see the news message at the top of the site and look for the zip code threads from about a week ago.

I used the gear that came with the kit.  If I were to build one again I would replace the fuselage with 1/2" balsa with 1/8 lite ply doublers.  A must is to use maple engine beams rather than the ply ones that they have you build up in the kit.  Mine is fun to fly...not a precision competition machine but will get through the beginners pattern and maybe the whole thing with someone else on the lines.  Mine came out 53 oz. and flies well on an LA 40.
