Texarkana contest this year?
« on: February 05, 2013, 05:55:43 AM »
Wondering if anyone knows yet if the Texarkana contest will happen this year?

Have gone to Brodaks for the last several years but thinking this year I'll skip Brodaks and use my contest budget to hit the local contest circuit in 2013. It's been a long time since I have visited several (more or less local contests) and would be nice to see some of the guys that usually don't make Brodaks. Texarkana use to kick off the season and hoping I can make Dallas, Kansas, Tennessee and maybe a couple others.

A friend of mine has talked to John, and John told him he was putting it on this year, just as Allen has implied. I will be corresponding with John soon to discuss with him on adding a couple of events. I believe John in the past was doing only PAMPA STUNT for both days. John, will probably add OTS, CLASSIC, or Profile. I believe he is considering at least two additional events. The problem with adding more events, as it usually is at most contests, is getting enough judges and contest officials. However, we will get enough workers to help John keep this long standing contest going. The Texarkana contest is now in it's 22ND or 23RD year.

Hope he doesn't change it up too much, myself and most of the guys I have talked to really like the two day four flights format.

Well Bob, there must be a pro group and a con group, because I know a number of people who have attended this contest who would prefer that it had a few more events. However, John will probably keep it the way it's always been.
