I am worried about Ken and Arlene Nash in Joplin. It looks like they live about a mile from the Hospital that was hit hard down there. There is no cell phone service there, and no power. Also, Terry Bolin lives just south east of Joplin in Neosho. I am sure there are others in the area there and in Minneapolis Minnesota. Keep these in your thoughts and prayers. Please post if you know how any of them are.

Thanks for the concern Jim.
One of the reported tornadoes came right through our field this afternoon...

I saw your post Wayne. Thank God you guys were not there. Hope the others up there are OK.

I'm very concerned for Ken and Arlene Nash. They live only about 1.25 mile east south east of St. John's hospital that made the news this morning. They live on the south side and I heard the tornado travelled east through the south side of Joplin.

Called a friend of mine that lives in Joplin right after it happened and was able to get through, they dogged the bullet but said they were trying to get to the other side of Town to help a friend and couldn't get there due to traffic and trash. Sure hope the Nash's are OK..

The Nash's were the first thing I thought of when I saw this on the news last night. All I know is that he is from the area, and it sounds like the twister didn't miss much. I don't know of anyone else from that area other than James Mills in the Springfield area. Maybe he'll chime in if he has contact? Hope they are OK.
Type at you later,

If you have seen the pictures, you will understand why there is no communication from them. The internet says power lines, gas mains and emegency vehicles are hindering travel in the area.

I spoke to Ken around 9:30am today. He and Arlene are fine. Their daughter, Julie, lost her house but her husband and child are ok. They don't have any power so the only thing working is the land line. No computer, no cell.

Glad to see that the Nash's made it out and hope they did not loose to much.
Looking at some of the pictures looks more like a Hurricane than a Tornado.

I hope to be proven wrong but as the Planet continues to cool this sort of thing is going to become frequent.

Rick,
Thanks for posting about Ken and Arlene. I haven't been able to get through on either cell or land lines. I did speak with Terry Bolin last night and he and his family were fine (although they still had some storms around them at the time).

Jack got through to Ken and Arlene by email Sunday PM and all was fine.. The Phone (Cell and land) are down for now, They are suppost to be bringing in Portable Towers Tuesday but I expect them to be over worked asap.. I am at a remote location where internet is spotty at best... But We are all plugging away... Please pass the word.

Terry,
Thanks for the update and we're all glad that everybody is OK.

Thanks for the update fellows. Now for rebuilding. My grandaughter is down in the dumps as one of her friends was in Joplin and lost her life. This is hard for young teens to understand why friends are taken so early in life.

The wife and I pray for the souls of the dead. We consider ourselves so lucky living in an area that does not get these type of storms. It is sad, very sad. It shows you how fragile life can be.---LOUIE :'( :'(
