Title: Torco Fuels
Post by: John Leidle on December 05, 2015, 02:05:31 AM
Today I discovered Torco makes glo fuel for planes , cars , etc also they sell methanol & nitromethane  ...I'm tempted to try some since my hobby shop quit business a week ago,,     I used Torco chain lube on my motorcycles 40 years ago and lately used their MC oil in my Yamaha  & Triumph. If any one has tried it I'm interested to hear about it.

It only has 14% oil. It''s worth a try. You could mix your own.

I bought a gallon of Methanol and a gallon of Nitro from TORCO on e-bay, got the Oil from Sig (Castor, KLOTz) and Riches Brew (UCON LB 625)

TORCO was expensive but only source I could find after I searched out any and all racing folks in a 100 mile radius of my rural location and could not get any to sell me anything less than 55 gallons

A gallon of Nitro and Methanol is too expensive to mix my own so I use all the items to augment lower cost 5% and 10% mixes from Sig or who ever to get test samples for any particular engine then I ask Riches Brew to send me the blend I want

I am more interested in combat engines and all of the examples I have are not all happy on one specific blend

I did plan on having the TORCO stuff around for a bit so as I waited on the delivery I went to Sherwin Williams and bough a few gallon metal cans to store it in as they ship in clear plastic juggs

I use the Torco Nitromethane to make fuel for my IC engines and for pulsejets. So far it has been good and I have not had any issues with it. A google search showed it was the only place I could find that sold it by the gallon. I would not pay $28 for methanol from them though. I buy my methanol form the local speed shop for $4 a gallon.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Torco-RC-Fuel-100-Nitro-Gallon-/190692756364?hash=item2c662c8b8c:g:6IcAAOxymHRRxOTC

I bought a gallon of Torco nitro from the internet not long ago. It is still sealed because I have quit flying for the time being.

I've been using Torco Nitro for a couple of years.  I buy it from a local speed shop.  usually buy about 3 gal containers at a time.  Price is reasonable.  Good containers and well sealed!  I also buy methanol from the same speed shop!

I've found it to be excellent stuff!  I get Castor and Klotz from Sig.  Their delivery is good.
