Title: Top secret engine….. mums the word.
Post by: Paul Taylor on April 03, 2010, 04:30:18 PM
OK so I will not show you the whole engine, but this is the engine that we got from our corporate sponsor. It meets the guide lines laid out by the CD of JYW and it is box stock. All I can say is WOW!!!
I think this thing could very easily swing at 12 inch prop and not even break a sweat!
I put on a 9 in prop and gave it the old one flip “Sterner” start. I will not tell you have fast I got it up to, but let’s just say it was hump’n and still sounded a little on the wet side. Just to try and load it up a little I put on a 10 in prop and the engine said “Ho-hum” and bubbled right along. I backed it down to around 8800 rpm and let it run the last few seconds so I could get the photo with out letting any secrets out. (The sponsor might not like that. n1) I ran out a two ounce tank and it was sipping the fuel. After shut down I waited a double hand full of seconds and touched the head, it was cool enough that I could hang on to it.

Mike and Joe, we are gunning for ya! ~~>

I'm sure allot of guys will be staring at that photo for a long time trying to figure out what's going on in the Taylor Aviation Skunkworks.
Looks like a Ho-made Custom built a Junkyard Wars destroyer.      LL~

I know the engine. Paul let me in on the secret a few weeks ago, but don't worry, Paul....I'll keep it safe. This engine would fly any plane I have built and I usually build heavy. So chunks of crate wood with duck tape will be NO PROBLEM!  I can't attend Brodaks, but still want to see Team Rootbeard do their commando attack and put the rest down! #^ And this just may do it y1

Ah, if the ED(event director) is alert,  all entries bring their engine to the table(if they are stock).  LL~ LL~ He puts them in individual boxes or sacks, but no one can watch him do it n1.  Then when he is done each person picks a box. %^@  Chances are you will not get the same engine. <=  I did that years ago with a 1/2A contest to try an equalize things out. :o  Oh the howls of protest until the contest starts. H^^  Besides isn't a tock engine required to run stock muffler? S?P Have fun anyway guys/gals as it is your contest. D>K
