Tulsa Flying

It got a little breezy in the afternoon on Saturday and Sunday but a few of us got out mid morning and put up a few flights this weekend.

Was this at the Tulsa Gluedobbers Flying site?  If so, I caught some if it "live" today via the webcam.  The snow earlier in the week was a surprise.

Yep, this was our field with the web-cam. I had a few days off work this week and with all of the sleet and ice we had I didn't get out to fly until Saturday. There was some standing water on the center pad Saturday that had frozen turning it in to a mini ice rink but other than that the field was in good shape.

What I'm trying to figure out is if Lee is yawning, yelling or trying to catch his lunch.. Am sure he knows we have very few bugs flying around this time of year so must be yawning or yelling

Bob, I was yellin' at that plane! Didn't bother to check the new lines, , and I had bunches of down and not much up.  Anyway, I talked it thru a really, really, big inside loop. All is fine now.

Bout time we got proof that Elwyn can fly.  I think he has won some trophies from around the area.  But, in reality I think he has more fun taking pictures.  Great pictures at that.  Now who's stooge is pictured?  DOC Holliday

Yea, need more info on that stooge. Looks kind of cool.

There are simpler stooges out there but this one works for me. Not fool-proof though. A couple of times I got in a hurry and put the release chord on the wrong side of the hold-down stake which kept it from releasing properly. ( I guess I really should put in a new hole further to the rear) Always have to remember to give the plane a good tug before starting the engine too. The little chunk of wood with the two nails is for sticking into the dirt next to the landing gear to help keep from inadvertently pulling the nose of the plane toward the circle. I did have to redo the padding once because it didn't reach low enough to fit the horizontal stab on the Flite Streak. Most of the detachable parts are held on to the stooge with Velcro for storage.
