Beautiful job Larry, like all of your builds.  I believe you stated it's built from plans, not the kit - did you find laser cut parts by any chance, or just get busy with an X-Acto?

Beautiful looking plane, and probably as usual another front row plane when it is finished. Let’s just hope he doesn’t let that homeless guy pose for a photograph with it again (like he did with the Stuka).

Yes Dennis, it was built from the Model Airplane News plans (April 1960). Although I do have the Top Flite kit, I would not consider building it. The "Super Form" fuselage construction is a pain in the ass to build and the wing ribs are 1/16 inch with no cap strips which means a strong possibility of sanding through the silk span, I decided to cut the ribs from very light 1/8 balsa.
I have always loved the design of the Peacemaker and have a Super 8 film transferred to VHS of my dad flying one in the early sixties. The long swooping rudder is so cool and the cowling is unique and different.
should fly OK with a BBTU FP .20

Thanks for the advice Steve.
Which 10-6 do you recommend? I have so many of them.
I guess I could try a tongue muffler.

Good idea, that will save a lot of weight, and sound like a "real stunt motor".

Yes, exactly. Brrrrrrr-Phhht-Brrrrrr. Or is it Phhht-Brrrrr-Phhht? I can never remember. The 10-6 Topflite Nylon won the '58 NATS, so that's the obvious choice. I'm sure the Prince of Monokote has many of those in his stash of 10-6's.   S?P  Steve

I remember where and when I bought that issue of M.A.N. magazine. WSC bookstore, on the way home from Jr. High. Loved GMA's lighter colored prototype. I took it to be silver, but with B&W pics, it was a bit of a guess. Too bad I didn't have an OS .21FP or .25LA at the time, but I had as many as anybody else!  LL~ Steve

Here is the Model Airplane News that Steve mentioned.
The gentleman on the cover was my elementary school principal and a great guy.
he would umpire our baseball games during recess and lunch.

Ed finished second in Open Scale at the 59 NATs with that B-29.
