Title: Top Flite Nobler Tank
Post by: Sam Laughery on August 23, 2007, 07:57:18 PM
I crashed the Nobler I built from a Brodak kit recently. That was a great flying plane all 38 oz of it.  I've crashed quite a few planes in my day but that one hurt big time.  I've bought a Top Flite ARF to fly until I have the time to build another one.  I know there were problems with some of the hardware they supplied but was wondering what tank I could use in place of the 4 oz clunk they supply.  I tried the tank from my crashed Nobler (it survived) and it is about a quarter inch to wide.  Any advice concerning the tank or hardware is much appreciated.

Sam

Brodak sells a tank that fits like the one in this picture.  You can see that I had to cut the firewall since the tank is a little long. However it works well. I don't recall the exact dimensions, but it is the width that is critical.

The sullivan 4oz round tank fits perfectly

Tom Morris sells the Sullivan tank (IIRC) already plumbed as a drop in.  It does hold a *touch* more than 4 oz!

Thanks for the tip, Geoffrey!  Didn't realize that the flex tank that big would fit!
