Title: Too Windy at Delta Park today..... but still a good day at the field!
Post by: Paul Taylor on July 06, 2010, 08:59:28 PM
Well I got out to Delta Park today and Richard and Bill were great host. The wind was howling, but we still had a good time at the field. I learn a few things about old engines and how to make a venturi.
Bill had a old Gilbert engine. I have never seen or heard of them. This thing looks sweet. Twin stacks.
Like I said it was windy. Richard brought a few Tutors and I was to show him how I did it at Brodaks, but I have a thing about crashing other peoples plane in all that wind. He put up one flight just to see how bad it was. It did not look like fun.
Art called on the cell phone and I got to chat with him.
Thanks guys it was a great way to spend the afternoon.
Here are a few photos of Bill's engine.

Or not to happy if I planted a Tutor about 3 inches in the ground. I was very windy. 20mph+ !

I know the weather is cooler then back home. Very nice here.

May not have been power house engines but, were impressive to us kids at the time.  Could not have been much harder to start than the OK Cub at the time.  Glad you had fun. H^^

The story in the Dallas area is that is how Linda Bob Gleason got adopted into club.  Only it was her brownies she baked.  She would also brings some to Topeka for our contest.  So Leo if you start showing up with Pineapple Upside Down Cake a few people would quit picking on you.   LL~ LL~ In my case I tell people if I didn't pick on them they would start thinking I didn't like them.   mw~
