Went to an auction tonight, nothing much there but me daughter in law Monica pointed out this smoking stand. I don't smoke anymore, but how cool is this? $35, I think its really neat.
-
Did you buy it? I would have just for the airplane.
-
Did you get the carburetor too?
-
Agreed, that's just too cool, for 35 bucks I would've had to drag it home too. Better dig into it, maybe it was Howard Hughes's and you can retire on it!
-
My eyes must be deceiving me. I do not see a carburator. I do see a Chevy hub cap. Now the desk is a collector for some people. I have seen such stuff in worse shape go for much more money.
-
I have a perfect 58 or 9 chevy hubcap. I picked it up in a yard sale. I don't know why, I just liked it. :-\ Anybody need one? Used on passenger cars and vettes. jim

Sorry, your smoking stand can not be used! n1 It will fail the BOM ruling! y1

Thought that was a end table with magazine storage. Had something like it a long time back I miss it. that even better with a airplane on it.

Wish I would have known this four months ago.
I paid six hundred bucks for a set of 58 chev NOS hub caps. Ouch.

Les-see, Chevy hubcab. One of my Ebay aquisitions for my pickup. My wife has driven my truck ONCE in the 5 years I've owned its and.................you guessed it, came home sans one cap. So I got 2 for the price of one on the bay, the spare is still in my office waiting to be stashed with the other "spare" stuff when I officially open the garage for the summer. Box behind it is shocks for said truck, its getting a work-over this spring, a little pampering to nurse it into another 5 years of flawless operation!
Carbs are there, but they're under the cowls, that's just plane obvious I would think.
I have no idea what I'm gonna do with this thing, I just liked it. I'll clean it up and oils it and park it somewhere, its actually in pretty fir condition. Maybe I'll strip out the copper lining and sell it and break even.................Nah, prolly not.
If you look very closely you'll notice this was obviously a rubber powered FF, look at the props!
-
I dont know about where you are, but bare copper is going for 3.55 or better a pound right now at the local scrap recyclers. you might do more than break even!
