Too cold in Orlando- so I flew in New Mexico!

Talking with the wife this week, and watching the news on the Florida cold snap I - brrrrrrr.
( I'm from North Dakota and moved south for a reason! No snow / sub freezing temps.)

Anyway- working in Albuquerque for a few months- had my co-worker from Phoenix bring my Ringmaster that I stashed at his house when he drove over. He pitted and I flew at Maloof Air Park on the west side of town.

Stilll pretty chilly but the faithful OS .25 fired right up, and off I went. Got in a good 8-10 flights, only CL guy there. We watched the Giant R/C Acro planes, and a B-17 was doing circuits over the valley, from the GA strip behind the ridge.

Pretty cool- it flew over once and was headed down wind- I did about 4 loops around it in the sky to keep it in view while I was flying.

Bill,
Mountains in background bring back memories.
We flew in Cocoa last week, temps have been in the low 30's.
Will miss you at the KOI.

If I had known I would have meet you out there. I am across town for Maloof. It is our club field we are trying to get the city to do some repairs on.

Hi Jim,

I wasn't sure we were going to get out- 1 flashing alarm on my new machine at the Fab in Rio Rancho can get me tied up for hrs / days. We were glad that everything came together so we got to get out.

We also flew Electric-R/C at Balloon Fiesta Park- another beautiful spot - I was wondering if electric C/L would be allowed there. There is surely enough room.

The surface is a bit rough- but the view is terrific!

I will be coming back here for the next 3 months, so I will be sure and get in touch with you.

Roger- Yeah I was hoping to be home so I could go to KOI- but it doesn't look like it will happen. That darn paycheck thing again!  Hope the weather Gods smile- and the cold is over with for the winter.

Bill:

It is 20 degrees here in St. Augustine right now and we have been below freezing 11 of the last 12 nights.  Suppose to warm up later this week, but now the weather forecasters are talking about wind and rain for the weekend.  I hope they are wrong.

We are going to Starke this morning to pick up the keys to the contest site and do a walk through of the facilities.  Of course, we may be forced to go to Granny's Kitchen for lunch, just to be sure they have a good supply of gizzards on hand for the weekend.

Looks too hot there for Me. I left Northeastern Montana for the same reason. Have fun and hurry back before it gets too warm here. Leo

Hey Leo - Happy New Year!

Hope you guys are getting some decent weather and working on the Flying Clowns for the up-coming season when it is wet and cold.

Saw that picture of you on Flying lLnes- but they got your bad side!

Hey Bill! If you're still galavanting around the countryside on May 15-16, snag your Ringmaster(or we'll supply one) and come to Houston for the 4th Annual Ringmaster Roundup! This year, Yvon is flying in from France to compete!Should be great fun! See ya?
Long Live the CL Crowd!
