We have been very successful with the Halpatiokee park officials here in Martin county FL. We use the soccer fields most of the time without any problems. We fly on Saturday mornings usually between  8 and 10 am. One rule we stick by - if soccer people show up we stop and leave!! Most of the year we have the place to ourselves, RC is not really flown here because of the closeness of US Route 95. If you fly at soccer fields, baseball fields or any other sporting field if you leave when the first person shows up you generally won't have any trouble and can co-exist just fine. If you try to extend you stay while they have the rest of their players show up you risk getting kicked off permanently.

Like Dennis T above

I found my local county, tax payer funded sports complex is close, adaquat for me ( the only CL flyer in the area) and it is out of town (on purpose) away from neighborhood houses. There are ranch houses in the vicinity but a LOT of separation...1000+/- yards...and most of my planes are muffled

I have same personal policy... as the base ball or soccer users arrive I just finish, clean my area, and leave

A few years back I was in San Antonio attending a Combat Clinic on a soccer complex some 500 yards away from a base ball field.  Richard Stubblefied had driven over from Houston (3+ hours) to help school some of us. Several pilots flew in from California for the clinic

Open Fast combat Nelson engines are unmuffled and very loud.

On the Saturday (no soccer season)  we flew---- there was a regional Little League Base Ball series being played. The parents, team captains, officials,  and coaches were much annoyed ----as the players in the out field just had to stare and watch these pretty loud fur ball combat matches.

They dispatched park police to halt us... Park Police listened to our argument* , and said, "Carry on" and we did

* County and city policy is; first come first served, no reservations, and no (during daylight) noise ordnance...thus we had a RIGHT to be there, use the field, and were NOT violating any rule, ordnance, or policy

BUT ---I knew we made many bad enemy's that day

Just something to think about

I love MY Rights, just as much as anyone else... but stubbornly  insisting on them, may not be wise...in the long run.

5 to 10 Little league teams, LOT of parents, many coaches, sponsors, ... I am sure we did a lot of harm that day

Back here... I do vacate when soccer moms/kids arrive....BUT I also do the same when I see base ball teams arriving

been flying there a couple times a month for 3 years... I prefer during the week early morning...low wind, kids in school, other than park police/personnel cleaning up from weekend...no bystanders to worry about...

Very Very church prone Baptist area... early Sunday until noon is usually all mine

I am ever thankful for my, so far, un-accosted use for a facility I helped pay for
