Title: Tom Niebuhr
Post by: M. Scott on May 25, 2018, 01:08:38 PM
Just a quick update on Tom.... he fell again and broke his hip and pelvis this time. He was telling me this morning
that is was accident in his garage with the garage door. I would wait a few days to call, he was kinda out of it
when I went for a visit. I didn't stay long so maybe I can go back on Monday and check on him. The rehab nurse
came in while I was their , I know he is not going to like that again. Anyway, say a quick prayer for Tom.
More updates later.

Mike.  So sorry to hear about another fall for Tom.  Please give him a "get well hug" for Shareen and me when he's ready for such things.

Holy Cow!  What a run of bad luck!  Sorry Tom, you deserve much better than that.  Prayers for you and a hope that you recover soon.

When Tom gets better tell him the old DOC says to take better care of his self and be more alert.   I am lucky in that the falls I have taken the last year and a half have not done more damage to me.   The last fall was/fell asleep in backyard with the dogs.   Tried to get up and walk before I was fully awake.   Had a badly bruised arm but no bones broken.   This goes for all of us getting up in years,  need to be more alert.

By the way Tom the Hobo will fly again,   fuse went back together easily.  Just need to glue landing gear back on. D>K

I spoke with Tom yesterday......
He's in a TON of pain.........A rod and a triple screw set .
He thanks everyone for the concern, and says that he'll be on line soon.....give him some time.

I need to post another update for Tom. He is not doing well.
He has developed some sort of infection and transferred back to the Hospital in McKinney. I talked to him 3 or 4 days ago and he was ok, going thru rehab. Two days ago he quit calling me back. His daughter said is not coherent.  So please pray for Tom. I will update as soon as I know more.

I too am praying for Tom.   Was hoping to fly one of his designs so he could see it an get a laugh or two and wonder why he let me have plans.

Tom,

I sure hope that you are not creating these injuries just to get
a lot of attention from the nurses !!!!!!    <g>

Best wishes for a speedy recovery and hoping that you avoid all
injuries in the future.

Photo show what Tom looks like with no injuries and standing upright,
and that "Top Hat" doesn't look too shabby, either.  <g>

Cheers.
