Received a text from Tom's wife Carolyn, that Tom passed through the Pearly Gates about 6 pm yesterday.
Words cannot express what Tom meant to me and all the CLPA community.

I only knew Tom from our phone conversations.  I was never disappointed in dealing with him.  He has been missed as a supplier for years and now he will truly be missed as a part of our community.  Gods speed.

Tom  was one of my best friends.  I used to go to his house once a quarter to visit and learned so much from him.. His building style was LIGHT, yet strong.  A true gentleman. When it came to kits, his were among the very best. Tom will be truly missed by all in this hobby.  He gave so much to this hobby...

Sad news. I think we all have good stories to tell about Tom.
I know without a doubt he is in a much better place resting with the Lord.
My condolences to the family. 💙

I talked to Tom on a fairly regular basis and had visited him and Carolyn at their home.  Tom was a good friend and a true gentleman.  The last time I talked with him, he told me that he knew the time was near but was not sad because he knew where he was going.

I will miss Tom.  He was a good friend and one of the most dynamic contributors to our hobby who has ever lived.

There is a hole in me and in the control line family that is not likely to be filled again.

I can't add anything more than what has already been said here. Just so sad to hear this but also glad that I got to meet and know Tom and anyone who did is much better for having met and known him. The whole hobby benefited from his skills and talents, and even though he may have never won the NATS or other big contest, he for sure is another big rock in the foundation of the stunt event and history!! His work with Stuntnews and PAMPA, his innovations he developed for building models, his products and his outstanding building skills are just a tip of the iceberg. I can't imagine the hobby as I have known it with out thinking of Tom and all he gave to it and to all of us.

Rest in Peace Tom, Tight Lines and Fair Winds for you,

Words cannot explain the integrity of this man. He was in a class all by himself.
Now is a time to celebrate Tom’s life. Thank the Lord He shared him with us.

One of my favorite moments of Tom was when he came to the FCM contest and shared his great ability to play his guitar and sing good old gospel music. Thanks Tom, see you soon.

Blessings
Allen

Please extend our condolences.  Though I never met him in person, I enjoyed his work and the sense of engaged leadership he brought to his hobby offerings.  A model for being a stand-up guy.

Tom was the best of the best, a standout even in a hobby full of extraordinary people. Most people do not fully appreciate how instrumental he was in stunt, PAMPA, etc. and what he had to put up with. He was also inexhaustible to the point it it was like he was 4 people instead of one. A remarkable man who I feel privileged to have known.

I had the privilege of meeting Tom at a North Carolina contest in the early 90s. A true gentleman and patriot who was very proud of his service in the Army.

Could someone please post a link to his obituary when it is available.  I have searched but not found anything.  Thank you.

Tom had some great products, the best balsa I ever bought and his control systems helped me go from intermediate to advanced. Even now when I make my own I still use Toms geometry. Learned much from him. Sorry to see another icon in our hobby gone too soon.

There is an old saying (actually, from the good book) that says the day of your death is more important than the day of your birth, because by then you have proven what kind of a person you are... Tom proved to be an honorable business person and well liked individual, which is a rare thing in this world. And that doesn't even begin to mention his time at the helm of the Pampa's newsletter bringing it up to a standard we all became spoiled by.

Even though he shipped product lightning fast, I sometimes had to nag him to invoice me, and he'd chuckle with that drawl of his and say he was "gitten'round'tuit". LOL! Classic Tom! I got the impression he'd have done it for free if he could.

Tom will be missed and already has been missed for some time as he had to pull back from the modeling scene, my sincere condolences to any family & friends who happen upon thread.
