Tom Morris
« on: November 22, 2024, 02:19:06 PM »
Today is November 22, 2024, and I just hung up the phone with Tom Morris.  I wanted to give everyone an update on Tom's condition, and it is not good.  He has had 54 TIA's (Mini Strokes) and fallen multiple times and cannot walk anymore.  He is confined to a wheelchair and has had to give up his two loves, gardening and Model Building.  He also is having a hard time breathing.  He told me he did not know how much longer he would be with us but is not in pain and still has a good appetite but knows his time is drawing near.

This is personally horribly sad to me as Tom and I have been really good friends for a lot of years and I know many of you are too and are aware of his contributions to the control line hobby.

Please take a few minutes to reflect on this and if you are a person of faith, pray for Tom.  I am kind of numb as I type this.

Mike

Sad news for sure. I always enjoyed hanging out with him at contest and going through his mobile store of goodie’s. But I hated it we he brought out the yellow and white Cavalier. He always beat me with that plane. 🤣

I can’t remember where I read it but I remember reading an article about how Stunt News really took off when he took it over.

I have 3 of his Cavaliers.  He has given me lots of advice on how to set them up.  They all fly good.  I have been to his house several times.  He truly is a good person with a good heart.  He is definitely on our prayer list.

It was not just Stunt News that "took off".  Because of Stunt New, PAMPA membership soared.

With Tom close by, a few of us go over to visit him once a quarter.. Always happy to see us and he gave us great bargains.. Love his shop.. Saw his production in action several times. Tom is a true gentleman.

His contribution to PAMPA and CL is legend.  His output of Stunt News was amazing and I have every copy..  During our last visit, Jim and I were amazed at how he kept up with his huge  garden.  He mentioned the falling

and only 10% of his heart is functioning, yet cheerful, never negative and busy finishing some of his back orders... He needs our prayers.
