You're welcome.

I really enjoyed that. I would love to fly with Tom as pilot some time even though I am not a pilot. Thanks for the video, D>K H^^

You had me at P-51....... you had me at P-51.

Such beauty and grace, the more I learn about human nature , the more I love planes!

I haven’t seen the new Top Gun movie yet, but I believe it features his Mustang in it with the N number changed. Planning to go see it this weekend. Heard it got great reviews.

Ah yes. On e of the many "perks" of being a minor celebrity. They throw money at you, and you are just an ordinary person, with maybe a couple years training. Or maybe you have learned 3 or 4 guitar chords and now you are in a rock band making millions!
Sour grapes? Maybe. I had to work hard to pay for my flying lessons. I could never afford anything more exotic than a C-172
I'm waiting for someone to throw money at me.

I took time to read his biography and came to the conclusion that he has earned evey penny he gets and has worked hard to accomplish the stuff he has done. People he works with say he never takes a day off. D>K

Ever consider taking up acting? ;D

Does Cruse fly his P-51 solo? The videos all have someone in the rear seat, I wonder if it's a CFI?

Yes, he does. When he was getting his pilot's license, he put the word out he was looking for a P-51.

As I understand it, he got the flying bug while making the first Top Gun movie, and it progressed from there. remember, that was around 30 years ago, and he had lots of time to make lots of money making movies and unlimited time and funds to climb the ladder. The Mustang is his and I think he has a credible number of hours in it. The Jet he was flying looked like it had some sort of demonstration team paint job on it and it was a L-39 Albatross, which is like the Cessna 150 Aerobat of personal jets. It was probably a loaner, or maybe his jet that he leases out to the display team to help pay for it and the Mustang. There are lots of creative ways to own an airplane, and no one says that even if you have the money to buy it, doesn't mean that you have to spend your own money to own it. It's a business thing. I'm supposed to go see the movie Monday.
Type at you later,

He's had the Mustang a long time, it was known as "Kiss Me Kate" back when he was with Katie Holmes. For Tom Cruise the expense of owning and operating a P-51 is peanuts, relative to most of us buying a bag of Planters.
The L-39 is from the Patriot Jet Team.
