Aero Vail, what is it good for?
« on: May 10, 2007, 09:13:30 AM »
I made a mistake and ordered Aero Vail from Aerospace Composite Products instead of carbon vail.  Aero Vail looks nothing like carbon vail and I am not sure what to use it on or what it is intended for.  I have a 25' roll of the stuff and hope it is useful on control line aircraft.  I was thinking of using it to cover the profile fuselage for the Profile Nobler to add some stiffness, but I don't know what it weighs or if it will add structural value.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Here is what the add says:
****************************************************************************
AERO VAIL (MV)

A lightweight non-woven fabric of synthetic fibers specifically designed to improve the aesthetic qualties of wet lay-up laminates. It has excellent formability and drape. Wets out evenly and will add little to the laminate's thickness.

Have no idea what the stuff is but would think 25 feet is way too much to just eat.. Call them and see if you can exchange it...
