Brodak 1 1/4" spinner
« on: March 10, 2019, 05:05:26 PM »
I am curious about whether the Brodak 1 1/4" spinner can be made to work on a 5mm crankshaft thread. What size is the stock nose nut thread? Can someone post a picture?

Thanks.

They're usually 1/4" hole   You'll need an adapter.  I like to open them up to 3/8" and use an adapter.

The ones I have are the commonly seen 1/4-28. Without checking I don't recall if they offer anything else.

Think mines a 3/16 thread , came with NO adaptor .
Some of the brodak Spinners , 2 " & 2 1/4 "  etc , come with a hardened steel 1/4 bore spacer , punches out for the 7 mm Super Tigre shaft .

This is the one I have.  It is made for a 3mm engine output shaft, the spinner nut is 5mm.  It might be best to make a new prop nut with 5mm threads straight through, as *both* the spinner nut and crankshaft threads in my example are drilled crooked (see second picture).  The bushing on the backplate measures 8mm in diameter, with a 3mm hole.
