Check out these great old prints from Les McDonald's collection from the past.

l. Bob Hunt KOI 72 semi-scale that really raised the bar a few more knotches..

I'm not completely sure but in the third picture down, the person in the front working on his plane looks like Andy Lee and I believe the plane is his Sunshine. If I am wrong please correct me.

William...That is truly an awesome stunt model...I love that cowling (even though it might be a little difficult primin' or chokin off the intake?

Les didn't have info written about these two exception models...(maybe 1971 or 72?)
I am having a long term memory loss..but isn't this Archie Adamisin's model? Help me here gang?

Hi Donald Do:

This one is easy for me. That's Bill Simons' Gemini that he flew at the 1973 Nats in Wisconsin. It was powered by an ST .46 and placed 4th at the Nats that year!

Oops! Make that fifth place at that Nats...

It was a great flying plane. I flew it several times and that's when I started work on the Genesis .46. In fact, the original Genesis 46 (1974) used that very same wing!

Andy made some beautiful planes. I have to dig through my stuff but I think I have a set of original plans for that plane that were given to me by Andy. I wish he would come out more often and fly with us in Flushing. I was also lucky enough to see Gene fly Both his USA and his Stuntmachine but as a young teenager at the time didn't realize what a great flier I was watching. Thanks for posting these great pictures!!!!

One more shot from Les with Bob Hunt's 72 KOI (pardon the scan job on this slide) This beauty has that "Thunderchief" look?

Thanks to Les and Schultzie for the photos. Were we really that slim and have that much hair. I met Bob Hunt for the first at the 74 Lake Charles NATS. We were making flying lines for F2C and he was polishing his stunter. I hadn't started trying flying stunt yet. I took up stunt after I ran out of pilots and David Adelman told me to fly the pattern in order. With his help I was doing the full pattern that day. Having fun, DOC Holliday

Was that the Genesis that had a white top block? (Or, I guess to be more accurate, it just *didn't* have a top block of color?)

I've seen pictures of that particular Genesis from the 1975 Team Trials. I always liked the look of that version of the series. Very soft and sleek.

Hi Mike:

Yup! That was the Neuclear Banana... The dorsal was curved and the ventral was also - in the same direction! It had sort of a "bent" look to it. I placed sixth at the 1974 Nats with that plane and then Jimmy Casale offered me way too much money for it. I think he crashed it... Big surprise there eh?

That fellow in the third photo, with the stars on his shoulder, looks familiar. I believe he used to fly in Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx.
