Zuriel,
That is the Tempest II that Mike flew at the NATS about 6 years ago. He was flying on circle 1 with winds of 15-20 mph out of the West (the worst possible circle on the L pad under those conditions). At the top of the overhead eight maneuver the wind caught the plane and flipped it downward and it crashed head on into the asphalt surface close to Mike. It left a significant divot hole in the asphalt. The fuselage was history but the wing and tail were salvageable so Mike built a new fuse for it over the winter. He is trimming it out and it will be a backup plane to his new original design he hopes to have finished in time to fly at the NATS this year.
