:! Fellow's where can I buy some tin stock to fab tanks from ? Sure do appreciate the help...Gil

Gil - I bought some brass shimstock from McMaster-Carr. .005 as I recall.
Much easier to work and solders better.
Or, next time you buy lacquer thinner or methanol, save the can.

Bob, I didn't even think about the cans that we use !!! Thanks for that hint as that is bigger than the K&S stock..

Your local lumber yard or roofing supply will have an item called "galvanized step flashing". These are pieces of flat sheet metal about 5"x7". I do not remember the thickness, but it was the same as an old perfect tank. Another name for them is "tin shingles". The last ones I bought (in the last year) were .29 each. At the local machinery supply company you should be able to buy 1/8" soft copper tubing.

I far prefer the brass shim stock, also. Your local NAPA store has it in various thicknesses that are 12 inches wide and you buy however much length you want. (I don't buy it anymore though, I love the clunkers!) S?P
