Thunder Tiger 4 U....Anybody know them, visit their store, etc.?
« on: February 08, 2009, 09:48:21 PM »
I tried contacting TT4U, to order some TT "Rubber Ducky's" (muffler extension thang), but haven't received a reply. The LHS had one in stock (I got it), but TT4U apparently doesn't stock them, or at least don't have them on their website. Pete Peterson wants some, because they're a purty yellow color. Pn 1114-Y, 10mm. Grey would clash with the color scheme on his new Saturn for PA, you see? Well, personally, I think yellow and grey are a fine combination... n~ Steve

PS: They're cheaper than the DuBro equivalent, maybe less than the Hobbico equivalent. But the TT item is made in Taiwan, while even the DuBro is made in China.

I have tried to buy engine parts from them several times but have never received replies.

I thought it might be because I was in Oz; maybe not.

Cheers, Geoff

I've had nothing but good experience with TT4U.  They're the only place to get parts for TT engines.  If you try to get stuff from ACE, their listed distributor, you probably won't have any luck.

I have had stuff, engines, props and parts, delivered next day without special handling requested.  I got a crankcase for a GP25 sent to my home that the local hobby shop COULD NOT get!

Does anybody know if they have a "store front", or is it somebody's garage, or a rent-a-garage in a storage yard?
People do amazing things for cheap rent, including living in a rent-a-garage in a storage yard. Just wondering...

One place I used to work in an industrial complex, a guy was living in one of the 'bays', had his cars stored there, etc. The reason he got caught was that he was taking a shower over in the corner of his 'bay', and the water ran into an adjoining business. Turned out to be a famous local ex-car dealer who had a liking for cocaine and had to serve a few years in the Crowbar Hilton. Some of you NW'rs might remember him beating in the hoods of cars with a sledge hammer on his Tee Vee ads.  LL~ Steve

I believe they are the importer for TT.  Just a warehouse, no walk-ins.

I thought Ace was the TT Importer, but maybe they lost out to TT4U? I wonder where Randy Smith gets his TT Pro .36's? I may end up back at the LHS, to see if they can get more of these Rubba Duckys. I don't have a lot of faith in them, tho.  HB~> Steve

I think TT4U and ACE have the same physical address.  I had no luck getting info or even replies to e-mail from ACE using their link, but no problemo with TT.  I have no idea how come!

My goodness that brings back memories.  I do remember him bashing in hoods of perfectly good cars!  It seems to me that people would line up to buy one too!  LOL  Don't who was crazier....him or the nut that bought it! LL~

Ace still has a website, and it's claimed to be under construction. They were in Missouri, as I recall. And I've gotten props from TT4U, and think they came from the Bay area of Calipornia. Maybe. Guess I'll have to talk to the LHS bozos.  %^ Steve

Have ordered parts for my Thunder Tigers on several occasions from www.thundertiger4u.com with good effect every time.  Better service than many other web sites I've dealt with.  I always order from their web site and have never tried to send an email or call them.

It's been that way for quite a long time, years as I remember!

TT4U is a really good way to get things Thunder Tiger related.  Most hobby shops, walk-in or on-line don't carry their stuff.

I went to the LHS last night, before the club meeting, which is just around the corner. There were two new yaller "rubba ducky's" on the peg, so I got one for Pete. Also asked the clerk where they got their TT stuff, and he said "Ace".  Still, I always have doubts about anything this particular guy tells me, because he's lied to me previously.

As previously stated, the TT exhaust deflector was not to be found on the TT4U website, either by name or part number. TT4U still has not replied to my email message, but we're good on yaller rubbery ducky's anyway. Well, it's TT4U's loss, because I was going to get several for Pete and some more props for myself.  :P  Steve

May be ACE is importer/distributor, but don't sell to the public.  TT4U might be their retail store.  Not unheard of.

Ace's old web site said they sold direct.  I was trying to get a replacement crankcase for my TT25GP.  Local hobby shop tried to order but ACE wanted almost the full engine price for the part.  I found the link to TT4U and everything worked fine, got the part and at reasonable cost.
