Well I have not been home much this month and it was looking like slim pickens to get Ryan a flight in this month. According to my new weather site, the forecast was overcast and 16mph winds. Figured that was good for the month of March. So I met Ryan after school to put up a flight or two. His Tutor 2  with an LA .46 had been starting and running great until this afternoon. Right after it got in the air the engine started surging like it had an air leak or something. It got thru half the tank and the engine quit after the figure eights. Lucky he was not inverted. We did a pressure test and could not find any leaks. The second fight was the same thing. So we called it a flight and packed up. When I got home I pickup the plane and heard a loud clunking coming from what I thought was inside the center of the wing. After putting my good ear toward the plane the clunking sound was in the tank. The clunk that came with the kit and tank had come lose because the fuel line split at the end. I put one of the filter type clunks on a new piece of fuel tubing and he should be good to go.

As for my weather site, the winds were more like 20-25. Normal for this time of year around here.

I got to fly a few weeks ago with the Portland gang and I hope to do it again this weekend. So I have my flights in for March. If I am real lucky I can add to it this weekend.

We are a quarter of the way to another All Seasons badge, Paul.  Steve Smith (my regular flying partner) and I may get in our April flight at Lafayette Esquadrille's alternate site in Collinsville, Illinois, just across the Mississippi.

141 has been open all week.  I am going to try to drive over to Buder Park this afternoon and see what it looks like.  It has continued to rain for the past two days but it is not threatening to flood again.
