I prefer a place that doesn't get much snow.

Last week when the few snow flakes strted coming down, I was thinking maybe we are in for it.  Have not had a really decent snow storm for several years.  In fact last season school let out a few days early because of no snow days being used.  By the way the flakes were melting faster than they hit the ground.

A couple of inches of fluffy snow when I was riding my bicycle home from work. More falling now but nothing too dramatic.

Snow?
It is that white stuff that you get in many places where there are no hurricanes or floods.

We are getting the liquid form. If it were 10 degres colder, we'd be buried.

Well, we have our "Monsoon" season, June and July, when it rains pretty heavily and often.  In winter we have occasional freezing rain.  And yes, it's true that one year we had to scrape ice off the asphalt circles during the Southwest Regionals.

Then of course there was the infamous 10th Annual VSC, which was cut short by freezing temp's, rain and wind.  We spent most of that weekend sitting inside a local IHOP.  Mighty unusual, that one.  Normally it's quite warm, or at least pleasant, during the VSC.

All of this is pretty much forgotten by June thru August...when it's possible to fry an egg on the sidewalk.

Er, ahh, Mike, just a few score miles SE of you, today we saw snow down to a few hundred feet of town (Sierra Vista, AZ, 4,875' above Sea Level) and post (Fort Huachuca; Buffalo Soldier Country.)

High temp today was about 40°F, and winds 25 - 40 MPH, about 1/2" rain. (Woulda been more, but the wind didn't let much reach the ground...)

We didn't move to Arizona for this! - but it's still nice to have a reminder every several years of why we did make that move. Weather in mountains in Winter may be different from that seen in lower altitude flat desert...
