This is December???
« on: December 16, 2018, 05:16:43 PM »
After Church and lunch with family came home so I loaded the wagon before my so called grand daughter could take off with it.  Such a beautiful day I only took two planes, the Mig and Lancet.  The Lancet didn't get flown as I was having too much fun with the Mig.  Temps were in the mid 50's F.   By the time I got home temps had dropped to mid 40's F.  May be last flights for this year.  Looking forward to more flights next year.   H^^ H^^

HEY! Don't knock it Doc! Did the same thing myself. Met a few others at Buder Park and got December flights. I have the all season flying thing going back at least 25 years or maybe more. At least two stunt flights a month all year! Almost got to to 60 here, but a chilly breeze was blowing so it didn't seem like spring or summer. But decent flying , though and hanging out with friends. Good time of year to do that!
   Type at you later and
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I had to work today but I'll get my crack at it tomorrow afternoon.  Not quite as warm as today but do-able.  After then the weather starts sliding back down.   I think last year I got out at least once each month except January.  That oil gets pretty gooey on the airplane in the cold.  Hence a pipe wins over the ol' Skylark.

Sounds dreamy. -34C here today, but I got motivated to check out ice o lated event in February on my way to VSC next year. So planning for a long, warm road trip in a couple of months. (Perhaps I will get to meet Sparky, in person?)

Sunday was supposed to be a Stunt dream.  60+, clouds and light but steady wind.  Worked feverously to get my Nobler E-Conversion finished.  Finished Late Saturday and got my batteries charged for the last shot at flying in 2018.  ESC wouldn't arm.
Well there is always next year but what really sucks is that I only have a single battery charger and it takes just about as long to un-charge them as it did to charge them.  Wife was happy, we got to go shopping instead.

Merry Christmas to all - Ken

Now you know why I have so many planes ready to fly.   Of course I had one time my starting battery was too low.   Out came the diesel for the rescue. D>K

Actually I had two others that I could have flown but my heart was just not in it. :(   Sort of like going to see a movie that you are dying to see only to have it sold out and you have already seen the other ones showing.  Anyway my wife suggested just that but the look on her face told me that inside she was clinching her fist and saying saying "YES". #^

Went to the field again today and David was loading up.  He stayed and helped me fly the repaired Hobo.  I think it flies better now if and when I learn to set a needle.    Tell you what, it gets cold fast when the sun sets. D>K

By the way had my Poodle Sandy with me.   She didn't like my flying and sat behind my chair.   It getting rare that I take her with me.  Hopefully will change that next year. H^^
