THIS DAZZLER 40...DAZZZZZZZZZZZZLES MY MIND?
« on: May 21, 2007, 01:56:04 PM »
DON'T LAUGH!!!
This DAZZZZZZLING DAZZLER 40 WAS ONE MEAN FLYIN MACHINE and lets face it...only a stunt flyer who is sure of himself...WOULD BEGIN TO BUILD A STUNT MACHINE...PAINT IT UNDERPANTY PINK....INSTALL THE FUSELAGE UPSIDE DOWN!'

Like the Johnny Cash song says: "GOTTA BE TOUGH...TO NAME YER BOY BABY...."SUE!"
So with a stunt model like this one....I WOULD BET MY WIFE'S PANTY HOSE COLLECTION...THAT THIS FLYER KNOWS THAT THIS IS ONE REAAAAALLLY MEAN FLYIN MACHINE...AND HAS THE TALENT TO WIN BIG WITH IT!

With that in mind...what judge would dare not give this flyer all the appearence and flight scores he deserves?

"NAME WITHHELD TO PROTECT THE BAD DUDE WHO RAZZZED THIS FLYER THE MOST....but in the end...had to give this stunt grunt all those well earned top appearence points.

All of Dave Rees' airplanes were/are something special.  His Dazzler was certainly no exception.

Don, I do not have a picture of it, but do you have one that shows the bottom side of this.  The bottom of the wing was done in the same pattern as the top but with multicolored bluee.

The designer, flyer was a pretty good dazzler himself.
Had the pleasure of meeting him and spending the better part of a day at a contest .
Dave really came across as a nice guy;wish he still flew c/l stunt.
That plane had a finish! and it wasn,t  all clear shine!Workmanship all theway! #^

JUST RAZZIN GANG! "G"MAN...
I dug through my collection of old FM magazines...to find that bottom view also. I had a slide of him holding that model upside down for us but that one is also in rattlin' around in my slide files somewhere.
That indeed was a GREAT ARTICLE...A GREAT MODEL...AND MOST OF ALL MADE BY A GREAT AND GIFTED FRIEND TO MODELING.

Sad indeed that he is not building or building  anymore???What an artist.
Whaaaaaaaa? Speaking of not building anymore....DAAA? EZ for me to say.

I read though that article so many times...the cover of the magazine and article was so finger rashed..and that cover has been long been gone.

But now...I can't even find the dittity-darn magazine.
I wonder if FM has that mag still available in the archival sales dept?
"G"Man...
any chance of a private scan scan for this old badboy don man?

one further thought...I can remember hearing so many of my fellow grunts making the comment that he should have taken that design...ONE MORE STEP...by adding another set of landing gears on the top side.
THEN OUR BELOVED BALSA-BROTHA LEO MEHL could fly that model with ease?  LL~ LL~ S?P H^^

"G" My main MAN!
I noticed that Keith mentioned that the plans are still available...and I need you to hang on to them. I have so many old decaying moldy oldeee; plans that are returning like the Bible says...
Ashes to Ashes...dust to dust and that includes many of those of magazines and plans.

HOWEVER...I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A XEROIDAL' COPY OF THE ARTICLE...for old times sake.
If you still have the mag...take that rag and go to your local repo-deeeepo when you can..
NO HURRY!
"LEAVE RIGHT NOW!! WAAAAA-WAAAA-WHINE---WAAAA! LL~ LL~
