This could be the best Bi-Slob flight ever--video link
« on: May 11, 2008, 04:27:35 PM »
John Paris and I have been flying our Slobs for about 4 years now. I think the flight in this video is the coolest we've ever done and it could be the best Slob flight ever.

Here is the link:

Thank you Dennis.
Thank you Paul.
Grace shot the video.
The flight wouldn't have been so cool if John hadn't been there to do the catching.

Over on SSW, the gauntlet has been thrown down (along with the saftey thong!). Let's have a video Bi-Slob contest. Submit your best Bi-Slob video to YouTube, and we can have an Internet Poll. No rules---just impress us! ~^. Ok maybe one rule--any lost digits  n1 from an aborted catch will disqualify the flight.
I'd say let's have a cutoff date of June 11 (this year--2008).

Have to extricate the Slob from the attic---if I can peel it away from the congealed castor sticking it the the plywood floor.

Oooo...it's on!

haha, I gotta brush up on my Slob skills. It hasn't been windy enough to break it out.
We are shooting to fly this Saturday. So I might get a video out soon after that.

Almost thinking that we need a Slobbin Category on this site!

Also thinking that we might want a few rules  :X for the contest.
1) 2 lines only (no tail line or throttle control)
2) Maybe something about not endangering launchers. I could imagine that might get out of hand ...like touching the tail skid on the nose of the launcher lying on his back......

Need to look for my all castor fuel.

I finally have enough good Slob video to do a new DVD.

My next attempt will be to fly the Slob sitting in my truck. Then blind folded.

Cool video Elwyn,
I am almost sure that is the Red Bi-Slob that Marvin gave to Ryan last year. I will try and capture some more footage this weekend with Ryan pulling the lines on this plane.

Stay tuned..... #^

Here's a little snippet from VSC 16.

The great James Lee and the even greater Marvin Denny aka bigiron.  I remember them doing something similar at the first Tulsa contest I attented.  The site had sand burrs that I was still pulling out of shoes 2 weeks after the contest.  DOC Holliday

Jim, Marvin and Alan all do a fine job of flying the Slob. But, I still have some tricks you ain't seen.
Soon I'll get Grace to shoot some more video.

OK the flying was much better then the guy behind the video camera. I had some fuel spots on the lens and the subject is fuzzy at times.
I need to pull back on the zoom I think next time.
Anyway here is Ryan flying the Bi-Slob that Marvin Denny gave him last year at Brodaks. Paul,
You need to let the boy give you the handle and you give him the camera.  I know that I will be handing the handle to Grace one day soon and I am sure that I may need to build another so that I can fly again....Good job Ryan.  You need to balance your insides with your outsides so that the lines don't get too stiff.  Those things are hard enough to fly level with uncrossed lines.

Hey John,
Yup... I told Ryan he is going to have to teach me how to fly that thing. It looks like too much fun! #^ (051) BW@
