When I crash I only have to walk 60 feet or so to stuff the remains in  a bag, not half a mile.

I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn on the receiver switch before launching the plane and watching it fly off into the sunset while I am violently moving the control sticks and getting no response.....actually happened with a powered glider called a "Piece of Cake".  With no control, it just took off like a free flight with a full tank of fuel on my Cox TD .049.  Luckily, a farmer west of the flying site found it and called me.....I was at least smart enough to have my AMA number, name and address on the plane.  Yep, its control line for me!  y1

I think the people are more friendly. y1

Some of the R/C sites I have been to the folks seem kind of snooty. @@^

Falling asleep at night thinking of the perfect pattern. The anticipation of the first flight of the day. The anticipation of the next flight. The smell of castor. And last but not least, my lovely bride as the stooge!

All of the above that has been stated.  But also the thrill when the grandkids remember what that handle is for.  Need to go stock up on more props. H^^

It's like a motorcycle with 1-2 cylinders and kickstarter.  Just the way it should be.
